The Australian Royal Guide Dog Association set out to breed a non-allergenic guide dog and the long process of breeding the perfect Labradoodle began. The goal was a non-shedding, allergy friendly and intelligent dog that would exhibit the finest genetically healthy strains from both the English Labrador and the Swedish Poodle breeds.
In addition to having practical purposes as an excellent guide dog, people quickly became impressed with the wonderful disposition, intelligence, gentle good nature, loyalty, and beauty of the dog.

Australian Labradoodles are bred specifically to capture specific qualities like being non-shedding, hypoallergenic, non-smelling, wonderful companion and family dogs with guide dog temperaments. The original Labradoodles were bred specifically as guide dogs for the blind and they proved to be exceptional service dogs. What is important is that the original Labradors were specifically English Labradors, and the Poodles Wally Conron used to create the Australian Labradoodles were also vigorously health tested for years in order to create the acceptable traits. Therefore it is important to understand that a properly bred Labradoodle should have many generations of breeding and should ideally have genetic roots back to the original Labradoodle line. Gorgeousdoodles is passionate about maintaining the exceptional standards set forth by the original breeders of these beautiful dogs. We specialize in the multi-generational Labradoodles.
Differences in Doodles
There is a huge difference with doodles, the Multi – Generational Australian Labradoodles are a older established breed with a interesting history that specifically originated in Australia by professional dog breeders specifically for the purpose of being hypoallergenic service animals for the blind. The dogs they used were English Labradors and Swedish Poodles and were all health tested lines. They were careful to only choose exceptional dogs to further the breed for the breed standard, confirmation and temperament – they named the breed “Labradoodles”. They bred the cockapoo and infused breeding in only to 8 to 12 generational AL multi-genes. To add a unique coat and DNA healthy pedigree line. After many generations they had the exceptional Labradoodle and had secured an exceptional dog through careful breeding.
We are proud to say that all of our dogs are Australian Labradoodle Multi-Gene registered and certified pedigreed lines.
