Teddy was born on April 11th, from Juniper and Dalton’s litter (mini size). We brought him home at 8 weeks and he was such a tiny (about 6 pounds), sweet, adorable and quiet baby who never left my side. He was so good in his crate right from the start. He only cried the very first night and after that he slept through the night without a peep!
Since then, he has been growing steadily, he is about 20 weeks old and about 14 pounds. He gets so much attention everywhere he goes because he is so friendly, happy and cute. We take him in the car several times a week and he is very well behaved. In fact, we drove to California and back and he was a champ in the car. He just slept and/or chilled during the entire road trip.
We have been taking him to my son’s baseball tournaments every weekend since June and everyone wants to pet him and play with him. He has a fan club of little girls who always ask to play with him. He is very gentle and playful with everyone he encounters.
At 16 weeks, we started a puppy training school, which is 4 days a week for 4 weeks. Teddy loves school so much that when we pull into the parking lot, he starts whining to get out and see his friends. All the teachers love him! He is very smart and food motivated! At the school, they do a good job of socialization, introducing him to different situations and people (costumes, etc.) to ease his anxieties and set the groundwork for future encounters. They also work on training and have lots of playtime which he adores!
When he encounters new people in our house he doesn’t bark or jump on them. He is very calm and well behaved.
Potty training has been going really well too! His accidents have lessened to about once every two weeks and he is able to tell us when he needs to go out. The “safe zone” has really been helpful with establishing good potty training habits and keeping him out of trouble.
He also hasn’t chewed up any shoes or furniture!
He is just such a wonderful, loving dog and if it wasn’t for COVID-19, we would not have gotten him. He brings so much joy to us and I can’t imagine life without him!
